Why Fall is the Best Time to Visit Wroclaw
Autumn brings such a warm, cozy energy to Wroclaw. The whole city lights up with bright red and orange leaves, turning simple walks along the river or through the Old Town into something really special.
What we love most about this time of year is how comfortable it feels to explore. The weather is crisp and cool, which is perfect for walking around all day with a hot drink in hand.

Where to Find the Best Fall Colors in Wroclaw
If you love crisp morning walks and rich autumn leaves, Wroclaw has so much to offer. You don’t need to travel far outside the center to find incredible spots.
Here are the places we loved exploring the most:
Cathedral Island (Ostrow Tumski)
Ostrow Tumski is the oldest part of Wroclaw, and it feels extra magical in the fall. Walking across the bridges over the Odra River with golden leaves all around is easily one of our favorite things to do here.
The Pergola at Centennial Hall (Hala Stulecia)
Located a bit outside the strict center, the massive ivy-covered Pergola at Centennial Hall completely transforms in the fall. Walking under the canopy of colorful red and yellow leaves on a sunny afternoon is so peaceful.
If you’re visiting Wroclaw for a cozy autumn getaway, we recommend staying near the Old Town or Ostrów Tumski. Being within walking distance of the main squares means you’re never more than a few minutes away from the best spots.
The National Museum (Muzeum Narodowe)
If you want to see the most iconic fall building in the city, head straight to the National Museum. The entire front wall is covered in ivy that turns a fiery red in October. It is hands-down one of the best photo spots in Wroclaw during autumn.
The City Moat & Park Staromiejski (Fosa Miejska)
Right next to the Old Town, the green path along the historic city moat (Fosa Miejska) turns into a beautiful autumn trail. Park Staromiejski is also right there – a quiet little park perfect for taking a quick break with a coffee.
Note: If you have extra time, Wroclaw’s other places like Szczytnicki Park, the Botanical Garden, or the Japanese Garden are also amazing spots to see fall foliage!
Best Things to Do in Wroclaw in Fall
Wroclaw has so many great things to do in fall. Besides long autumn walks through colorful parks, the city is full of historic streets and cozy spots where you can warm up and take a break.
Here are a few simple things we loved doing:
Take a Morning Stroll Around the Old Town
The Old Town’s colorful pastel townhouses look even prettier under the soft autumn sunlight. Taking a quiet morning walk around the Market Square before the city fully wakes up is one of the best simple pleasures of visiting in fall.
Explore the Specialty Coffee Scene
Wroclaw has a fantastic coffee culture. Grabbing a flat white, sitting by the window, and relaxing for a bit is the perfect way to break up your sightseeing.
Warm Up with Polish Comfort Food
There’s nothing better after a long autumn stroll than a hot plate of pierogi or a warm bowl of sour rye soup (zurek). Wroclaw’s food scene has amazing traditional spots and modern takes on classic Polish dishes.
Hunt for Wroclaw’s Famous Dwarfs
Walking around searching for the tiny bronze figures (krasnale) scattered across the city is surprisingly fun in the fall – especially when you can take your time without summer crowds.
Want to learn the quirky history behind Wroclaw’s famous dwarfs while exploring the historic streets? Taking a walking tour with a local guide is a great way to see the main spots without getting lost.
Quick Tips for Your Autumn Trip to Wroclaw
